Statistical process control?

Is it fair to say that statistical process control may be linked to stock performance? I'm creating a report that is looking at Dell Computer stocks over the last three years...I have to apply an operations management concept here and am trying to locate something that would be easy since I have many linear regression model calculations and other statistical info. Any advice is appreciated.
