Isn't it a bit hipocritical to say....?

You shouldn't invoke or evoke a Deity while intoxicated or under the influence while at the same time some Deities are invoked and evoked using ecstatic states such as this? For instance, Pan and Dionysus, they are both very ual and very ecstatic deities. Now wouldn't it make since to call a deity into you using one of the ways used by the ancients? If it worked for them, why not you? I mean sure, you can *ask* a Deity to be with you, but it's been proven that ecstatic states bring about a higher conciousness in order to experience the Divine.
